Fire Them All

O'Reilly would have had to go through waivers to get on the team this year, had Colorado not matched the offer sheet.

Jay Feaster is a lawyer. That is his primary qualification for the job he holds. He is there because he can read, and understand, the CBA. John Weisbrod, English Major, is here because he is supposed to be some sort of CBA guru.

They missed this?

If they missed this, they have no legitimacy. They are there because they are suppose to be able to read and understand the CBA. They failed at that. Why do they still have jobs?

Why do they still have jobs? Honestly? Do any of you have a good reason?

I am prone to blame Ken King, because he hired these people. But if you are Ken King, and these guys come to you with the offer sheet idea, you trust them. You trust they did the due diligence. Because that is what you are paying them for.

And when it comes out, not a day later, that they hadn't? Ken King must be livid. I know I would be. This would cost someone their job if it happened in my office.

These guys have turned the team into a punchline. They should all be fired.

  1. Waiting for Steinberg to come on with a whiny voice and say "Nobody in the NHL knew this" like it is some kind of excuse.

Best case scenario is that Colorado hasn't filed the paperwork and lets him go. If columbus gets him that is awesome for a number of reasons.

    1. O'Reilly is a greedy fuck and going to Columbus would be fabulous punishment.

    2. Sherman is a dumb asshole and losing a good player for a 1st and a 3rd would be wonderful. Obviously he didn't know this or he would have been shouting it from the rooftops to avoid an offer sheet.

    3. Flames give up a 1st and 3rd to help out Columbus. I guess it prevents them from picking up a prep school player who has scored 14 points thus far.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  2. Going to Calgary would have been the worst punishment of all, every Flames supporter from the top down seems to think this team isn't the laughing stock of the NHL. I'm sorry, but they are. The Calgary Flames are a living, breathing, skating-very-poorly, joke.

But hey, keep filling the stands, keep insisting that "every game matters" and the Flames somehow have a legitimate shot at winning. It's always fun to watch a train wreck like this from a distance.

  3. I liked the point that one commentator made on TSN:
Murray Edwards was elbows-deep, big swingin' dick on the owner-side of the lockout negotiations, and he gave this move the thumbs-up? The fuck..? If anyone should have known the rules it'd be that guy.
