I want to say this on the -46 we just acquired. People say it is a good move because he can skate. To them I ask: Brent Sutter system doesn't allow one to skate; what does it matter if -46 can?
-46 is directly responsible for the second goal against, by the way. Though we can excuse his lack of poise with the puck, and generally poor decision making because he can skate, though. Which is nice.
I love how the local media is fawning over this move like it was the greatest thing of all time.
A depth player that was picked off waivers is a low risk move. This is true. A depth player picked off waivers is not a high reward move. Even if this move works out for the Flames can anyone really say that it will have an impact on the squad? Really?
